We Engage We Engage We Engage

In a sustainable abortion ecosystem, public and private evidence-based abortion services are shaped by individual and community needs. Universal access to services is sustained and supported not only by policy and legislation, adequate funding and but also appropriate commodities. Services are free of stigma, respect human rights and are available through a trained and supported health workforce that meets clinical and service delivery standards.

Service delivery outcomes inform continuous quality improvement, meet community needs and support and inform political will and action.

Ipas works to improve access to and uptake of contraception to support women in avoiding unplanned pregnancies and unsafe abortions. These efforts aim to improve the quality and consistent availability of a wide range of methods in public-sector health facilities while ensuring the provision of affordable options of acceptable quality. Services must adapt to the needs of young women, and communities must be informed about the methods available.

Quotes

Clinical mentoring is a good way of facilitating communication between providers and women. We create a bridge and facilitate communication. Being a mentor is a great responsibility to our fellow providers but also to women: doing clinical mentoring allows me to better understand women’s reproductive rights and needs.
Dr. Michael Mboma
Healthcare Provider, Mentor since 2020.
